A man died and four other people were injured Tuesday night in a two-vehicle collision near 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road, according to Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Ann Justus.
Officers arrived at the location and learned a pickup truck was traveling east on Cactus Road and tried to turn left onto 43rd Avenue, Justus said.
The pickup truck collided with a truck that was traveling west on Cactus Road after the driver failed to yield while they turned left, Justus said.
The driver of the westbound truck was identified as 59-year-old Robert Mullen, Justus said. Mullen was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, Justus said.
