Shipe lived in the Bethlehem-area, Coroner Robert Miller Jr. said. Public records show an address for him in Lower Saucon Township.
Divers recovered Shipe’s body about 11 a.m. Friday near where his ice fishing gear had been found Thursday on the partially frozen lake near the Preachers Camp boat launch in Beltzville State Park.
Following an autopsy Saturday morning, the death was ruled an accidental drowning, Miller said.
“This is an important way Centenary can help to ease the financial stress the pandemic has placed on our families,” said Robert Miller Jr., vice president for enrollment management.
