Syracuse, N.Y. Cleaning up pollution at the former Roth Steel scrap yard in Syracuse will cost the Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency up to $1 million.
Robert Petrovich, the agency’s executive director, said removing pollutants from the soil on the site at 800 Hiawatha Boulevard W. will cost from $800,000 to $1 million.
Nevertheless, Petrovich said the cleanup is necessary for the agency to have any hope of getting a developer interested in redeveloping the property. ....
