Elaine R. Koeppen, 82, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was born in Allentown, Pa., the daughter of William and Ruth Sattler. She was married to her husband John Koeppen for over 61 years. Elaine worked as an accountant for the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida, Bertram Yacht and others. She belonged to the Order of Eastern Star Chapter of the Biscayne Masonic Lodge in Miami. She was an avid blood and plasmapheresis donor. She enjoyed working with Via de Cristo, His Hands Extended and the Women’s Auxiliary of the Gideons in sharing God’s word. Elaine also supported New Hope Pregnancy Care Center, The Caring Place, various schools as well as The 100 Black Men of Bradley County with her husband, John. ....

While such descriptions can be confusing to new and younger residents, interesting information about our past can be learned from them. Some of these businesses include: Sevier County Bank Founded in 1909, Sevier County Bank has been in operation longer than any business in Sevierville. In 2006, the main office of the historic business relocated on East Main Street. Sevier County Bank is now located very close to where it started over a century ago. Actually, the new bank building sits where the White Store, a popular grocery store for many years once stood. ....
THERE are plans afoot for vaccine passports to be introduced to allow people to travel to foreign countries, but also to the pub and other public venues, if they can prove they have received a vaccination against Covid-19. The plans have divided opinion nationally as some have said they feel they should not have to prove they have had the jab, whereas others feel that if it warrants them to go on holiday, then they definitely would carry the passport. Readers of the Hexham Courant generally responded favourably when asked if they would carry a vaccine passport.
