Hundred Heroines is a UK charity dedicated to advancing public awareness of women in photography. Their aim is to bring about better representation of women in cultural programming. Amongst their online resources is Struck By Light, a digital exhibition exploring the question: âWhat does a 21
st century photograph look like?â Featured above (left) is a piece by Ellen Carey â who also curated the show. The abstract photograms are alive with vibrant colour and geometric shapes.

All ready for the holidays and nowhere to go? Don’t despair. Lots of virtual events are on tap throughout the region: attend a virtual concert or play, or make something. And it’s virtual, so you can wear your comfortable home clothes. We even have events listed up through New Year s. Tie definitely optional. Read on.
