Hundreds of SUVs and khadi-clad non-local leaders made their way out of Nagarjunasagar Assembly constituency as campaign bells for the bypoll fell silent on Thursday. The bypoll, necessitated by the death of sitting TRS legislator Nomula Narismhaiah, will be held on April 17, with a total 41 candidates in the fray.
The constituency, comprising seven mandals Gurrampode, Tirumalagirisagar, Peddavoora, Nidamanuru, Madgulapalli, Tripuraram and Anumula has an electorate of 2,19,745 voters, of which 1,10,838 are women voters. The polling on Saturday will be held through 346 polling stations. ....

As the campaign for Nagarjunsasagar bypoll reaches the final stage, Congress is harping on a new weapon to get the decisive vote for its candidate K. Jana Reddy projecting him as Chief Minister candidate for the 2023 Assembly elections.

Bhuvanesh Boojala took charge as the new President of American Telugu Association, ATA, a premier umbrella Organization serving the needs of the Telugu people across North America.
Mr.Boojala who hails from Washington DC area has been an ardent follower of ATA since 2004 and as a Coordinator was instrumental in the success of Philadelphia Convention in 2014. Mr.Boojala was sworn in as the new President of ATA on Saturday January 16th at the ATA board meeting held at the Omni International hotel in Nashville, TN. President Parmesh Bheemreddy passed on the baton to the new president. ....

In the 2019 general election, Karnataka was the only state in the south where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) notched up more than half the vote share (51.4 per cent). The five states in the region send 129 members to Parliament, so it was no surprise that a concerted campaign was launched to enlarge the saffron footprint before 2024 and the next Lok Sabha election.
