Bank backs 120,000-ton rice mill expansion

First Bank of Nigeria has affirmed its support for the expansion plans of WACOT Ltd, a subsidiary of TGI Group, as the company prepares to double the capacity of its 120,000-ton rice mill in Argungu, Kebbi State.
The bank stated this when its board members, led by Managing Director Dr Adesola Adeduntan, visited the mill at the weekend.
This expansion comes barely four years after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo commissioned WACOT’s first mill in 2017.
Adeduntan commended WACOT’s premium household brands such as Big Bull and Patriot which he referred to as ‘world-class’. ....

The Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group, parent company of WACOT Rice, among others, has won the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) 2020 Employers Excellence awards.
According to a statement, the Group Managing Director of TGI, Rahul Savara, won the “People First CEO Award”, while the group took the “People First Safety Award for Organisations” for its commitment to its employees and communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
TGI is also the parent firm of Cormart, TGI Distri and CHI Pharmaceuticals. TGI Group also contributed nearly N2 billion to help fight COVID-19. ....
