City council members largely embraced the project to turn a 67-acre swath of the former Nokia property into a mix of single-family homes and townhouses at the northwest corner of Naperville and Warrenville roads. Updated 2/4/2021 8:36 PM Developers of the controversial Naper Commons subdivision are going back to the drawing board amid concerns over how their plans for the Nokia land in Naperville would affect surrounding properties. Pulte Home Company LLC has proposed constructing 239 single-family homes and townhouses on a vacant 67-acre parcel at Naperville and Warrenville roads. With a community park serving as the focal point, the residential development is designed to offer a unique urban environment that caters to a variety of demographics and price points, attorney Russ Whitaker said. ....

Almost four months after announcing plans for a second act, the property owner is now looking to reopen the drive-in this spring with its longtime proprietor. West Chicago s city council also has approved a zoning code request needed to bring back the outdoor cinema of yesteryear.
However, there are still a number of obstacles and costs, particularly with respect to infrastructure improvements, that impede the owner s ability to move forward with opening the Cascade Theater, an attorney for the land owner wrote in a letter to the city last week. ....
