Chinnamastika temple in Rajrappa (File Photo) RAMGARH: Members of several Hindu outfits led by BJP’s district youth wing took out a foot march to Raj Bhavan in Ranchi from Rajrappa’s Chinnamastika temple on Wednesday. The rally was taken out to demand the reopening of the Chinnamastika temple and other prominent places of worship such as Baidyanath dham in Deoghar and Basukinath temple in Deoghar for the devotees. The protestors comprised BJP functionaries, priests of the Chinnamastika temple and vendors who sell puja items and memorabilia outside the temple, among others. They are slated to cover 70km on foot and reach Ranchi on Thursday. In Ranchi, they will meet governor Ramesh Bais to raise their demand. ....
RANCHI/JAMSHEDPUR: Ranchiites mostly chose to perform the rituals of the first Somvari of the ongoing Shravan month at their respective homes as most of the Shiva temples remained shut across the city given the pandemic but in Jamshedpur, there was a rush of devotees in the early morning hours. The Pahari Mandir in Ranchi, which usually sees thousands of devotees during Shravan, made arrangements for online puja, including special puja and rudrabhishek, for the devotees. The treasurer of Pahari Mandir Vikas Samiti, Abhishek Anand, said, “Those willing to offer puja need to pay Rs 101 for special puja and Rs 1,100 for rudrabhishek. The puja is also being telecast live on our website and YouTube from 5am to 8pm.” ....

The activists handed over a memorandum to Governor Ramesh Bais, which was addressed to President of India Ram Nath Kovind, seeking his intervention for an immediate check on ‘dictatorial acts of the government and restoration of democratic rights of the citizens’. ....
