The accused are International Leasing and Financial Services (ILFS) former Acting Managing Director Syed Abed Hasan, Vice-president Nahida Runai and Senior Manager Rafsan Riad Chowdhury. Judge (in-charge) Rabiul Alam of the Senior Special Judge s Court of Dhaka passed the order after Anti-Corruption Commission Deputy Director Gulshan Anwar Pradhan, also investigation officer of the case, produced them before it with a five-day remand prayer this evening, ACC Public Prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir ....
Regent Group Chairman, MD indicted for possessing fake notes Both deny the charge Star Digital Report Star Digital Report A Dhaka court today framed charges against Regent Group Chairman Mohammad Shahed and its Managing Director Masud Parvez in a case filed over possessing Tk 1.145 lakh in fake notes in July this year. Shahed and Masud, now in jail, pleaded not guilty and demanded justice after Judge Md Rabiul Alam of the Third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge s Court of Dhaka read the charges to them. The judge set March 15 for starting trial of the case. On November 3 last year, Mohammad Zakir Hossain, a sub-inspector of Rab-1 and also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate s Court of Dhaka, showing 13 people as prosecution witnesses. ....
Electrical goods export jump Exports of electrical goods rose 42.34 per cent year-on-year to $41.93 million in the July to January period of the current fiscal year, in a testament to Bangladesh s growing prowess in the technological sector. The export receipts were $29.34 million during the same period a year ago, data from the Export Promotion Bureaus showed. Industry people credited the initiatives of entrepreneurs and continuous development of products for helping the country widen its export basket.
