The Welcome to Kentucky sign is almost immediately after you get on the bridge. And I wondered, Is that really the border? So I checked on a map, and lo and behold, it looks like it is where the border is, Zink says.
He s right. Repeated court decisions have put the Kentucky border just off the far-side riverbank. That goes for Ohio, Indiana and Illinois, too.
It makes the Ohio River unique, according to UC College of Law Professor Brad Mank.

By mid-March last year, we all knew things were about to change. Some employers were setting up work-from-home arrangements for employees. Traffic patterns in downtown Cincinnati, where I ve lived for the last 13 years, reflected that. Events big and small were getting canceled. People were giving each other more personal space in public.
Italy had gone into total lockdown to stop the spread of the coronavirus in early March, and people in Cincinnati were wondering if it would happen here. Toilet paper was becoming hard to find.
By March 24, 2020, shelves usually lined with toilet paper and other paper products began to sit empty, like this one at the Meijer store on Harrison Avenue. ....

When Bill Rinehart found out there was an urgent need for coats at the Jackson County Clothing Center, he set the wheels in motion.
Rinehart is plant manager at Dicksons Inc. and also is a volunteer at Reddington Christian Church, 10516 N. U.S 31, Seymour.
I found out about the need through a Facebook post from the clothing center shared by Ruth Ann Rebber, he said. I then contacted Cheryl Vierling at the clothing center about our church doing a coat drive to help out.
Vierling is a volunteer and board member of the clothing center. ....
