Daily Post Nigeria Published A diasporan group, Yoruba One Voice (YOV) has applauded the United Kingdom for granting asylum to persecuted members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). The publicity secretary of the group, Omoladun Orolugbagbe, said the UK demonstrated a great interest in Nigeria amid the spate of insecurity. YOV, however, urged Britain to work on modalities for an all-inclusive referendum that will lead to the actualisation of the O’odua Republic. Daily Post Nigeria Published Protesting members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, and Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, on Thursday blocked the convoy of Osun Deputy Governor, Benedict Alabi during a protest in Osogbo, on Thursday. Recall that JUSUN and the NBA, have been protesting in different parts of the country against the alleged unwillingness of the government to respect the financial autonomy of the judiciary. The protesters in Osogbo on Thursday morning started the protest from the High Court, Oke-Fia and marched to the Customary Court through to Federal High Court in Osogbo. The protesting members of the two unions were, however, trekking to the State Government Secretariat, when the convoy of the Deputy Governor ran into their midst. ....
Daily Post Nigeria Published The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has apologized to Nigerians especially road users along the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Expressway also known as the Airport Road for the electricity blackout that occurred on Wednesday night. The FCTA gave the apology in a statement signed by the FCT Minister’s Chief Press Secretary, Anthony Ogunleye. Ogunleye explained that the blackout was a result of faults on the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company’s (AEDC) feeder. According to him, the FCT administration is in communication with the AEDC for a quick resolution of this problem. He, however, assured members of the public of the commitment of the FCT administration to offer the best possible public services to all residents in Abuja. ....
