The chairmanship tussle between Yomi Idowu and Kayode Otitoju, the embattled legally elected chairman of the Lekki Residents Association, LERA, has taken a turn for the worse as the Yomi Idowu led faction of LERA in collaboration with the Board of Trustees, have emptied the association’s account.
Raising the alarm over the flagrant display of unaccountability is the outgoing chairman, Mr Otitoju, who is in a legal battle with the residents of the high brow estate.
In a notice to residents and stakeholders and signed on March 1st, Mr Otitoju alleged that Idowu and the BoT, presented a dubious LERA resolution to the bank for a change in signatory and in the process, emptied the account which had N10,600,000 naira in it. ....

Breaking News | Breaking News Lekki chairmanship tussle: LERA appeals judgement, files stay of execution, disclaims notice of AGM

Following a judgement delivered by Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo of Federal High Court Lagos in favour of embattled chairman of the Lekki Phase 1 Residential Association, LERA, Kayode Otitoju, the residents of the highbrow estate are adamant about not having Otitoju as their chairman and are appealing the judgement.
Justice Oguntoyinbo had nullified the LERA election of September 27, 2020, following an application by Otitoju for an order to set aside the poll. Oguntoyinbo also voided LERA’s suspension of Otitoju on the ground that it failed to avail the plaintiff fair hearing before taking such disciplinary action.
Otitoju, on June 15, 2020, had filed a motion of notice against LERA, seeking an interlocutory injunction to restrain LERA’s trustees from conducting election into its Executive Council. ....
