Passerby calls 911 after man found lying on ground with stab wounds: VicPD

VICTORIA
Victoria police are investigating after a man was found lying on the ground with apparent stab wounds over the weekend.
Victoria police say they were called to a parking lot near the corner of Yates Street and Broad Street on Saturday morning for reports of a stabbing.
Investigators say a passerby spotted the man lying on the ground shortly before 9:45 a.m. When the passerby approached the man, the man called out for help and said he had been stabbed.
The passerby called 911 and an ambulance was dispatched to the scene. Police say the victim was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released. ....

The new Langford-Colwood dealership will have extra staff to provide vehicle pick-up and drop-off service anywhere in the capital region, said Sabourin. “It’s one thing the pandemic has taught us about customer service,” he said. ....

Man with knife arrested after threatening two people in downtown Victoria

Victoria police arrested a man Tuesday morning after two people were threatened with a knife on Wharf Street.
Police were called to the 1300-block of Wharf, near Yates Street, about 10 a.m. for a report that a man had brandished a knife and threatened the victims, who said they were standing in a parking lot near their vehicle when the man approached them.

Parking restrictions to take effect in several areas of Albany

There is a lot of work happening around Albany this week, and because of that, there are several parking restrictions going into effect.
This includes several sections of downtown.
There are no parking signs posted, and police will be ticketing or towing drivers who ignore the rules.
The following restrictions will be in effect:
Beginning on Sunday, May 2nd at 7:00 a.m. until Wednesday, June 2nd at 5:00 p.m., parking will be restricted on the south side of Dana Avenue near 62 Dana Avenue for service vehicles.
Beginning on Monday, May 3rd at 7:00 a.m. until Tuesday, May 4th at 5:00 p.m., parking will be restricted on the west side of Jeanette Street from #20 Jeanette Street to Second Avenue for gas installation. ....
