Law enforcement considers retraining, replacing drug-sniffing dogs after marijuana legalization and last updated 2021-07-07 21:42:23-04 HELENA â For years, law enforcement agencies across Montana have used trained drug-sniffing dogs to search for illegal narcotics. Now, though, possession of small amounts of marijuana â one of the drugs theyâve been detecting â is no longer illegal in the state. That means those agencies are having to consider the possibility of retraining â or even replacing â their K-9s. The Lewis and Clark County Sheriffâs Office currently has one K-9: Villi, a 6-year-old German shepherd. He is trained for apprehending suspects and tracking as well as drug-sniffing. When he detects a targeted drug, he will stop and paw at where the odor is coming from. ....

Until Queen Victoria made it fashionable to be married in white and it became a tradition, brides wore their Sunday best for the ceremony. This exquisite Honiton lace wedding veil on display in Honiton museum was made for Adeline Dart’s marriage to Baldwin Duppa in 1869. The veil was made in Charlotte Treadwin’s Exeter workshop and it cost £84 (around £7,000 today). ....
