U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released a statement announcing the arrest of eleven Iranians who illegally crossed over the U.S.-Mexico border Monday night. Border patrol agents noticed the group on a bridge near San Luis, Arizona. The group of five females and six males were taken to Yuma Station for processing. Iran is included on the list of Special Interest Countries.
Eleven illegal immigrants may not sound like a big problem but it does remind us that those attempting to enter the United States illegally don’t just come from Central American countries, they come from all over the world. Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a group of Iranian migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico into Arizona on Monday. Agents identified the group of Special Interest Aliens as six males and five females.
Yuma Station agents patrolling the border near San Luis, Arizona on Monday evening encountered a group of migrants who illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico near the Salinity Canal. The agents identified the group of 11 migrants as Iranian citizens, according to information obtained from Yuma Sector Border Patrol officials.

A group of 11 Iranian nationals was arrested by United States Customs and Border Protection agents on Monday evening after they illegally crossed the border from Mexico into Arizona, the agency announced late Wednesday.
According to a CBP press release, agents encountered five women and six men from Iran traveling in a group on a bridge near San Luis, Ariz., around 6 p.m. After determining the group had crossed the international border unlawfully, U.S. border patrol agents transported them to Yuma Station for processing.  
Iran is considered a “special interest” country due to it’s relationship with terrorism, but CBP did not suggest anyone in the group was linked to terrorist activity. ....

Border Patrol Agents Arrest 11 Iranians in Arizona Who Illegally Entered US
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said its agents arrested a group of 11 Iranians who illegally entered the United States.
According to a news release from the agency, agents saw the group near San Luis, Arizona, on a bridge.
Border Patrol agents then “determined the group had illegally crossed the international border into the United States. The group was arrested and taken to Yuma Station for processing,” according to the release. “The five females and six males are were [sic] all from Iran, a Special Interest Country.” ....
