Noles Conclude Regular Season Competition at UNF Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida State track and field team concluded their regular season competition at the UNF Invitational on Friday afternoon in Jacksonville, Fla. The final day was highlighted by multiple personal best performances as well as 10 top-five finishes. “Edidiong Odiong had a great meet and is really emerging as a National scoring threat,” said Head Coach Bob Braman. “Jayla Kirkland has been doing a great job of showing her the way the last two meets. Maudie Skyring continues to lead our distance ladies, and the discus trio threw fantastic. On the men’s side our older guys really set the tone. Isaac Grimes, Fabian Edoki, Jacore Irving, Adriaan Wildschutt, Milton Ingraham, DaeQwan Butler, Jo’Vaughn Martin and others all competed like National players.” The women’s sprinters battled in the 100 meters to overcome a broken clock call back after 60 meters. Cunningham Named Scholar-Athlete of the Year Among 12 All-ACC Academic Picks

April 13, 2021 Cunningham Named Scholar-Athlete of the Year Among 12 All-ACC Academic Picks TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –The Florida State Track and Field senior Trey Cunningham has been named ACC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Tuesday. Cunningham is joined by 11 other Seminoles recognized as All-ACC Academic honorees. Cunningham, who was also named the ACC Indoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2020, posted a 3.938 grade point average during the most recent fall semester. The ACC Postgraduate Scholarship recipient majors in public relations and was named to the Dean’s List in both the spring and fall of 2020.

No 18 Noles Set for NCAA XC Championships

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 18 Florida State women’s cross country team will be one of 31 teams lining up to compete in the 6K at the 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships, which are being held at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The top Seminoles will be racing in their first cross country contest since the ACC Championships on Oct. 30, where FSU finished third with a total of 109 points. The women’s 6K will start at 12:50 p.m. and the men’s 10K will follow at 1:40 p.m. Both races will be featured on ESPNU. Coverage of the event begins at 12:30 p.m.

Grimes Earns Silver on First Day of NCAA Indoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –  The Florida State Track and Field team completed day one of the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  The Seminoles recorded three lifetime bests, four season bests, two heat winners, two new school records and the men earned 17 big points putting them in 3 rd place heading into the final day. “The men had a fantastic day one at indoor nationals,” said Head Coach Bob Braman. “The men are well positioned for a Top 5 finish tomorrow. That would be a really great result for this team considering we’re missing our Ace, Kasaun James, due to injury. I’m really proud of these guys. Out of 7 guys, only Trey has competed at Indoor Nationals before. That’s impressive.”

March 4, 2021 - by Jodie Judd Cunningham and Coach Phillips Win South Region Awards TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State senior Trey Cunningham was selected U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South Region Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year this Thursday. He is joined by South Region Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year, Kelly Phillips. These awards are voted on by USTFCCCA member coaches and honor coaches and athletes from each of the nine regions. “Trey is certainly deserving as the South Region Track Athlete of the Year,” said Head Coach Bob Braman. “He’s been the dominant track athlete in the region this entire year.”
