YORK Co., Va. - York County Schools are planning to bring back more students to in person learning beginning February 22.
Students in grades 7-11 will be returning in a hybrid model.
Beginning Monday February 22, 11th grade students will return to school. These students will be followed by grades seven and nine on Monday March 1, and grades eight and 10 on Monday March 8. As with other grade levels, students will be scheduled to attend school in-person two days per week as part of either Cohort 1 (last names A-K) or Cohort 2 (last names L-Z), the school division said. ....

The Pennsylvania Department of Education’s annual Safe Schools report for the 2019-20 school year showed a noticeable drop in reported arrests.
Districts are required to submit their misconduct reports, both criminal and academic infractions, to the state every year. Reporting sometimes changes from year-to-year, but no changes were made last school year.
Last year, the top three criminal reasons why students were in trouble statewide were:
Possession, use, or sale of tobacco or vaping 8.34 percent
Fighting 8.14 percent
Minor altercation 5.42 percent
