The war of words between the Deputy Commissioners of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar over the death of COVID-19 patients in Chamarajanagar district hospital due to non-availability of oxygen continued on Wednesday with the Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru Rohini Sindhuri clarifying that she neither rationed nor controlled oxygen supplies to Chamarajanagar.
“I categorically state that as Deputy Commissioner Mysuru, I did not ration or control oxygen supplies to Chamarajanagar district or any other district”, Ms Sindhuri said in a statement on Wednesday. ....

Chamarajanagar : , May 4 (IANS) A day after 24 Covid patients died in Karnataka s Chamarajanagar district after alleged fluctuating oxygen supply, its Deputy Commissioner, M.R. Ravi squarely blamed his Mysuru counterpart Rohini Sindhuri for the deaths due to enormous delay in supply of the life-saving gas.
Ravi hit out at Sindhuri following her media statement released in Mysuru on Monday stating that she helped Chamarajanagar under humanitarian considerations by sending 250 cylinders at midnight . ....

Following reports of shortage of oxygen in hospitals across the State, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Thursday directed the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to take steps to ensure timely oxygen supply to hospitals. He also asked hospitals to conduct an audit of oxygen and Remdesivir vials.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure judicious usage of oxygenated beds, ventilators, and Remdesivir, which should be given only to the needy. ....
