Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced a whopping $2.5 billion package to ensure local councils are not only no worse off , but better off from the restructure of water assets. 
Last month the Government proposed the establishment of four publicly-owned entities to take responsibility for drinking water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure to stop average household bills reaching up to $9000 by 2051.
A report by the Water Industry Commission for Scotland estimated that New Zealand will need to invest between $120 billion to $185 billion on water infrastructure over the next 30 years to meet standards and provide for future population growth. ....

Zealand where world-ranked boxer Alrie Meleisea lost against
professional rugby player Sequita Hemingway on her debut.
Alrie Meleisea who now has the record of 5 wins 1 lose and 1
draw is ranked 3rd in the WBA and 8th in the WBC. She was ranked
3rd on Boxrec, but now is ranked 5th, behind Sequita Hemingway.
Alrie Meleisea took New Zealand by storm when she made her debut
in 2016. She captured her New Zealand heavyweight title and
successfully defended the title in 2017. Since then, Alrie

A decision by Napier City Council not to establish Māori wards for next year s council elections has prompted a claim to the Waitangi Tribunal for an urgent hearing, asserting the Crown has breached Treaty principles.
A law change earlier this year meant councils could establish Māori wards without the possibility that a poll signed by at least five percent of ratepayers could overturn a councils decision.
Councils had until May 21 to make a decision in time for the 2022 local government elections. Thirty-two councils chose to create Māori wards, joining the three councils that already had them. ....
