The new station at Perry Barr was procured through the Pagabo framework by Transport for West Midlands and is part of the wider £500m regeneration of the area. The new station will open in time for next year’s Commonwealth Games It is the closest station to the 40,000-seat Alexander Stadium which will host both the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the athletics events. DEVELOPERS have hailed a new office building in Freer Street in Edinburgh as it achieves “practical completion”. Developed by Vastint Hospitality as part of its New Fountainbridge mixed-use development, it comprises 59,554 sq ft of Grade A office space over seven floors, said to be “providing a welcome boost to the city’s commercial property market”. In addition to No2 Freer Street, phase 1 of New Fountainbridge includes the newly open 262-bedroom Moxy hotel with rooftop bar, other commercial and retail units plus extensive public realm. It is set within a masterplan of new pedestrian and road routes with landscaped green spaces which will re-connect Fountainbridge to the Union Canal. ....
The UK’s largest contractors claimed just over £10m in furlough cash in the three months to the end of February, new figures from HMRC have revealed. Analysis of HMRC’s furlough data found that the combined claims by CN100 contractors totalled up to £3.9m in February, up from a maximum of £3.7m in the previous month. In the three months to the end of February, companies in the CN100 had claimed up to £10m, up from £6.1m in the two months to the end of January. HMRC publishes monthly lists of all UK companies that have placed staff on furlough via their payroll schemes; the figures for February were published on 6 May. ....
