By: News On 6 Many Tulsa residents are without water on Thursday morning after a major water pump at the Mohawk Water Treatment Plant failed on Wednesday night leading to diminished water pressure for customers at the highest points in the City. City officials are asking people in South Tulsa to use water sparingly as they work to get the pumps back up and running. According to the City of Tulsa, a 30-million-gallon-per-day water pump at the Mohawk Water Treatment Plant was taken out of service due to a significant leak in the supporting piping. Officials attempted to engage a back-up pump however, it failed to start. ....
City of Tulsa Update (10:00 a.m.): The city has announced all Tulsa Fire Department stations will be able to provide residents with water from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day until further notice. Residents must bring their own containters. City of Tulsa officials announced late Wednesday another major disruption in water service for residents, and said they will be opening a distribution center for those without service.
