Millponds fire damages housing units; police rescue one resident
MARLBORO – Multiple condominium units in the Millponds development off Texas Road in Marlboro were damaged in a fire that occurred on May 15 and during the incident, police officers rescued an elderly man from his home.
According to a press release from the Marlboro Police Department, at 4:03 p.m., police received a 911 call from a resident who was reporting a fire at a residential building on Yorkshire Place in Millponds.
Police officers arrived at the scene approximately four minutes after the 911 call was received. Flames could be seen from the road and there was a heavy smoke condition.

A pedestrian, identified as Nathan Martinez, was crossing Route 9 Northbound near Willow Lane, police said, when he was hit by a Kia Seltos.
The driver, Lauren Wiodarski, 26, of Rockaway was not injured and is not facing any criminal charges, Marlboro Police Captain Stephen Levy confirmed to Townsquare Media News. She is not facing any charges as the pedestrian was not crossing at a crosswalk or at a traffic light, Captain Levy said.
After police and first responders including the Morganville First Aid Squad arrived on scene, Martinez was brought to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital by M.F.A.S. for an evaluation and treatment of broken bones and internal injuries.

Two people escape Marlboro home fire, two dogs unaccounted for
An investigation is underway following a fire at a home on Regina Road in the Morganville section of Marlboro Township on Thursday, where two people were able to safely get out of the residence but it s not known where their dogs are at this point.
Marlboro Township Police said they received a 911 call around 11:05 am regarding a fire that began in the garage and had spread to a portion of the residence.
Two family members were home at the time, police said, and they were both able to get out safely.
