Sir, – I am puzzled by the assertion from the bridge authorities that it was necessary to divert traffic via the Kincardine Bridge during the most recent closure of the Queensferry Crossing due to falling ice.
There is a plethora of electronic road signs on the motorway/bridge approaches, the purpose of which is to inform motorists of problems ahead.
There is also the bridge patrol staff on hand to help guide traffic as appropriate and Police Scotland have motor patrol vehicles to deploy. ....

Plans for a new £33.8 million leisure-led development in Perthshire have been revealed.
The West Kinfauns proposal from Morris Leslie Ltd aims to include retail, a four-star hotel, lodge-style cabins and a museum telling the story of transport and vehicles over the last century.
A proposal of application notice has been submitted to Perth and Kinross Council with an online community consultation to be held on Tuesday March 16 between 3pm and 7pm. ....

Multi-million-pound leisure development plans have been unveiled for a site on the outskirts of Perth.
The £33.8 million proposals for West Kinfauns have been revealed by plant machinery company, Morris Leslie, which has its headquarters in the village.
The development would include a four-star hotel with 120-150 rooms, lodge-style cabins, and a transport museum, with a focus on the local area.
Morris Leslie, chairman of Morris Leslie Ltd, said: “This exciting £33.8m development provides the perfect opportunity to maximise the potential of the location and draw tourism to the area on a local and national basis. ....

Councillors have approved plans for a caravan site in rural Angus, despite safety concerns raised by nearby residents.
Proposals for a caravan site containing 41 static homes in Brigton of Ruthven were narrowly voted through by Angus Council’s development standards committee on December 15.
However, several nearby residents spoke out against the application at the meeting, citing safety concerns.
The application was for a change of use from the site’s former use as a tree nursery.
