Minister inaugurates 50-bed Mother and Child Hospital
State Energy Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday said that the medical infrastructure in the State would be given a facelift to provide better health services to people.
Inaugurating the upgraded Mother and Child Hospital here into a 50-bed hospital, he commended the health professionals for effectively handling the health situation in the district.
The Government General Hospital, the nodal medical centre to treat COVID-19 patients, would be developed into a super-speciality hospital, he said during the review meeting of the Hospital Development Committee with District Collector Pola Bhaskar and other medical officers. ....

Vijayawada: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday said that the State government had turned the BC’s from Backward Classes to Backbone Classes and empowerment of weaker sections socially, economically, and politically has been taken up as a movement and nowhere in the country such emancipation has taken place.
Speaking at the BC Sankranti Sabha held at the Municipal Stadium here, where chairpersons and Directors of 56 BC Corporations were sworn in, he said that Sankaranti has set in early with the festival atmosphere and told the newly sown-in persons that the position is a responsibility and not power. They should try to uplift those persons who are left out and be part of the welfare programmes. ....

NELLORE: Tension prevailed and police pickets have been placed in Vodarevu area of Prakasam district after some fishermen pelted stones at the convoy of Rajya Sabha member Mopidevi Venkataramana on Monday.
Agricultural market committee director Kanaparthi Bajjibabu and YSR Congress leader Kagitala Satish, following the MP in a vehicle of the convoy, were injured. ....
