The economy of Delhi is expected to contract by 5.68 per cent in real terms due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Delhi Economic Survey 2020-21.
However, the advance estimate of the gross state domestic product (GSDP) of Delhi at current price during 2020-21 is ₹7,98,310 crore, showing a contraction of 3.92 per cent over the previous year.
The GSDP at current prices increased by about 45 per cent in the last six years- from ₹5,50,804 crore in 2015-16 to ₹7,98,310 crore during 2020-21.
The per capita income also went down from ₹3.76 lakh in 2019-20 to ₹3.54 lakh in the current fiscal year, stated the survey tabled in the Budget session of Delhi Assembly by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. ....

Maharashtra’s economic survey forecasts a negative growth rate of -8% for 2020-21.
MUMBAI: The extent to which the pandemic and the lockdown crippled the state is revealed in Maharashtra’s economic survey that forecasts a negative growth rate of -8% for 2020-21.
This is a historic low for the state and a huge slide from 2019 when the revised economic growth rate was 5%. The survey also projects a decline in the state’s per capita income.
The Indian economy is also expected to grow at -8% in 2020-21. The parallel with the state’s growth rate is not surprising since Maharashtra contributes the highest share to the nation’s nominal GDP at 14.2%. ....

State Economic Survey cites novel coronavirus pandemic for slowdown
The State Economic Survey (2020-21) presented in the Assembly on Friday said Maharashtra’s nominal Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is expected to decrease by ₹1,56,925 crore during 2020-21 as compared with 2019-20. The report cited the novel coronavirus pandemic for the slowdown.
“Advance Estimates of 2020-21 should be read and interpreted keeping in view the extraordinary situation of the COVID-19 pandemic. The complete lockdown and then the step by step removal of these restrictions has impacted economic activities and the availability of data,” the report said. ....
