PETERSBURG Virginia State Police said Wednesday they are now investigating the death of a man found shot in a wrecked car on Interstate 95 Sunday night as a homicide, but they are not saying yet if that death resulted from a shooting incident reported minutes earlier in a neighborhood adjacent to the interstate.
State Police Sgt. Dylan Davenport identified the victim as Quintell Pulliam, 35, of Petersburg. Pulliam was discovered in his vehicle southbound on I-95 around 10:45 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to Bon Secours Southside Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation s Richmond Field Office is continuing its investigation into a homicide that occurred in the City of Petersburg Sunday night, Davenport said in a VSP news release. That was the first time Pulliam s death was referred to as a homicide.
