I argue wheat can be a wonder crop but continues to receive peripheral attention in policy and practice. There are reasons, and one points to failure to understand the role and importance of agriculture in its entirety. Using the wheat sub-sector, I show how. ....

IMF must yield to govt's demands for bailout package, pleads ZACCI – Zambia: News Diggers!

Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) president Chabuka Kawesha speaks to journalists at Parliament Building shortly after Finance Minister Dr Bwalya Ng’andu presented the 2021 national budget on September 25, 2020 – Picture by Tenson Mkhala

As Zambia sets out to implement post Covid-19 economic recovery strategies ,the Centre for Trade Policy and Development (CTPD) would like to urge Government to expedite (albeit with caution) the implementation process of key trade agreements such as the Africa Continental Free Trade Area. The AfCFTA offers opportunities that can help Zambia galvanise and stimulate post-pandemic economic recovery and foster economic growth in the medium to long term. This is based on the idea that AfCFTA w ....
