Clubbers in Central Pines violate curfew orders. ABACO| Abaco has encountered an uptick in Covid19 cases and the cases are so severe we at BP do not believe Health Officials are tracking the cases sufficiently. They are not telling us the truth! The Competent Authority last week ordered an 8pm curfew lockdown on the island, but that didn’t stop 95 patrons of a club in Central Pines from violating the Emergency Order restrictions. On Friday those patrons, after experiencing one of the deadliest hurricanes of the century, packed a nightclub in that part of the country violating every law in the books. Looka DAT! ....
[email protected] POLICE in Abaco have launched an island-wide manhunt for two suspects behind an armed robbery that left a man injured early Thursday morning. According to reports, shortly after 6am, two armed masked men entered a local gas station in the Dundas Town community when they demanded cash from employees while holding them at gunpoint. Police said: “One of the males then gun butted the manager causing the firearm to discharge, shooting his accomplice and injuring him. Both suspects fled on foot, leaving a trail of blood. The employee was taken to the Marsh Harbour Clinic for injuries sustained to the head. He is listed in stable condition.” ....
[email protected] PRIME Minister Dr Hubert Minnis participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for a $1.8m community centre and hurricane shelter in Central Pines, Abaco, yesterday which he said will be capable of accommodating 800 people during a hurricane. “The Disaster Reconstruction Authority in partnership with The Bahamas Hope Foundation, Sol Relief, and Ernst and Young is set to build the Abaco centre,” he said. “This facility will serve as a high-performance community centre and storm shelter in Central Pines, Abaco.” Dr Minnis said he expects the completion of the centre in May 2021, before the beginning of the next hurricane season. ....
