Niger governor mourns Emir of Kagara, describes him as symbol of humility, patience

Niger State Governor and Chairman North Central Governors Forum, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has received with great shock the news of the death of Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Salihu Tanko.
The governor in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday in Minna described the death of the Emir as collosal loss to the state in general and the Kagara Emirate in particular.
He said: “We have lost a First Class Emir, a member of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, an Octogenarian and an Elder Statesman whose wise counsel has been of immense value to this administration and those before it in the state.” ....

Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger and Chairman North Central Governors Forum, has began the All Progressives Congress (APC) Registration and Revalidation Exercise for the North Central Zone.
A statement by Bello’s Chief Press Secretary, Mrs Mary Noel-Berje, said the governor revalidated his membership at the Alkali Mustapha Unit, Central Ward Kontagora, Niger to signify the commencement of the exercise.
Bello is also the Chairman of the National Registration and Revalidation Committee (NRRC) of the Party.
He said the mandate he received from President Muhammadu Buhari was to ensure that the exercise is entrenched at the grassroots, hence all registration would be done at the unit level of the wards. ....

The judgment, which was delivered by Justice Adamu Bello on July 2, 2013, stated that it was mandatory for the President to obtain the confirmation of the National Assembly for the appointment of the service chiefs.
But the President, who on Tuesday appointed service chiefs including the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Lucky Irabor; the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru; the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, and the Chief of Air Staff, Air-Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao, did not seek the National Assembly’s approval. ....
