GREENOCK-based ship maintenance and repair specialists are celebrating today after winning a multi-million-pound Caledonian MacBrayne ferries contract. Dales Marine at Garvel Dry Dock are also now set to increase their workforce to support the lucrative four-year deal with Scotland s national ferries operator. The contract is the second tranche of Scottish Government refit work for CalMac s ageing fleet with the majority of the 19-vessels work set to come to Greenock. Fury erupted last October when the Cammell Laird yard on Merseyside was preferred over the Greenock facility for the first £25 million contract. Inverclyde MP Ronnie Cowan yesterday welcomed the news of Dales new year success. ....
