LAS VEGAS - Two competitors who took very different paths through the COVID-19 pandemic and back to the
United States Bowling Congress Open Championships were able to share the spotlight Sunday by rolling perfect games on the tournament lanes.
Former Team USA member Wesley Low Jr. of Palmdale, California, struck first, tossing his 300 during singles at the South Point Bowling Center, while Matthew Priore of North Arlington, New Jersey, closed his team event at the South Point Bowling Plaza with 12 consecutive strikes.
Their 300s were the 11th and 12th of the 2021 USBC Open Championships, which kicked off its 79-day run May 1. There have been five perfect games in team competition, five in singles and two in doubles. Low was the second left-hander to achieve the feat. ....

LAS VEGAS - Another high-scoring day at the 2021
The barrage of big scores Saturday included a Team USA member, former collegiate standouts and a group getting its first taste of national success, helping kick off the third week of the 79-day event at the South Point Bowling Plaza and South Point Bowling Center.
The 2021 USBC Open Championships marks the first time in 117 years of tournament history that competition is being held across two venues, but the move will allow for more than 7,700 five-player teams (more than 38,000 bowlers) to compete in the pandemic-shortened tournament.
For those still headed to Las Vegas before the July 18 conclusion of this year s event, two-time Team USA member Michael Martell of Brooklyn, New York, is the player to beat in Regular All-Events, after he finished his Open Championships debut with a 2,194 nine-game total, an average of nearly 244. ....

More than 300 human resources (HR) professionals across the North American Division (NAD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church attended a three-day HR virtual conference on April 25-27, 2021. The event, themed “RefocUS,” centered on training workshops, policy update sessions, panel discussions, and daily devotionals. To accommodate as many people as possible in the NAD, daily schedules started at 5:00 p.m. EDT on the Zoom meeting platform.
“RefocUS is about learning who we are, why we engage, what motivates, and how we as HR professionals mentor and serve,” Orna Garnett, NAD Human Resource Services (HRS) director, said. “Mentorship is an important building block in the NAD’s strategic focus, and faith-based human resource practitioners are in a unique position to facilitate both formal and informal mentorship programs within their respective organizations.” ....
