McCallie’s Nic Mirabella went far above and beyond that threshold, dealing six sterling innings and giving up only two earned runs in the Blue Tornadoes 5-2 playoff win over Briarcrest Christian.
“It was nice to have the guys hit the ball early and get a lead like that,” Mirabella said. “It’s a lot easier than pitching from behind or even.”
