ASX to edge up, Nasdaq leads modest Wall Street gains Share Australian shares are set to edge higher at the open as US stocks edged higher in New York. ASX futures were up 8 points or 0.1 per cent to 7098 near 6am AEST. The currency slipped. The yield on the US 10-year yield was 2 basis points higher to 1.58 per cent near 4pm in New York. Bitcoin was trading at $US38,409.72 on bitstamp.net at 6am AEST. It earlier bounced off its 200-day moving average around $US40,600 highlighting how difficult it may be for it to regain its upward momentum. On Wall Street, stocks traded in a narrow range for a second day with the Dow modestly positive and the S&P 500 up 0.2 per cent near 4pm in New York. The Nasdaq advanced 0.6 per cent. ....
The Clinchfield Railroad Historical Society will induct two new members into the Clinchfield Hall of Fame on Saturday. A.J. Peoples and his late father, Jack Peoples, will be the first father-son duo to be inducted into the Clinchfield Hall of Fame; the Hall of Fame recognizes those who have had long careers working for the Clinchfield or CSX Railroad. âThe Clinchfield Hall of Fame was organized in 1995 by the founder, the late James A. Goforth, to perpetuate and keep alive the memory of the Clinchfield Railroad,â said Martha Erwin, curator of the Clinchfield Railroad Museum. The inductees of the Clinchfield Hall of Fame are chosen by a committee of three based on letters of recommendation written to the Clinchfield Railroad Historical Society on the nomineesâ behalf. ....
