ELECTRONIC music group Ultrabeat will be raising the roof at a Barrow bingo hall. The 2003 hit song Pretty Green Eyes producers will be playing a DJ set during a night of crazy bingo at Apollo Bingo in Hollywood Park. The famous group also had hits with Elysium (I Go Crazy) and Discolights. Ultrabeat, from Liverpool, were formed in 2002, originally consisting of vocalist and producer Mike Di Scala and producers Ian Redman and Chris Henry. Their debut album Ultrabeat: The Album came out in 2007, peaking at number eight on the UK Albums Chart. The event is set to go ahead on October 16. ....
CamelPhat are launching a record label and are keen on submissions music news 22/02/2021 British duo CamelPhat have just announced their new label coming later this year and are asking producers for submissions. Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala s joint project rose to instant fame with 2017 s iconic tech house hit “Cola” and are now well established within the music industry. There s nothing about a label name available yet, or whether the label is after house and techno, but they have said they are taking submissions, encouraging producers to send demos via email and Soundcloud links. CamelPhat just announced their new label coming Summer 2021. The British duo consisting of Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala formed back in 2004 and have since become one of the biggest names in tech house. Best known for their massive 2017 hit “Cola,” CamelPhat continue to set the bar while churning out expert level melodic bangers. Considering CamelPhat have already established themselves as leading tastemakers in dance music, a record label is the instinctive next step. From the creative minds that brought us “Breathe” and “Panic Room” comes a new wave of music from future artists. So far, no word on the a label name or if they’ll exclusively offer house and techno but CamelPhat are taking submissions now. Mansion nightclub houses Void Acoustics Wednesday, 3 February 2021 A new look for Liverpool’s Mansion UK - The city of Liverpool has a long-standing history for its vibrant nightlife and club scene. And so the opening of the refurbished Mansion nightclub was met with eager anticipation and much hype by locals and tourists alike in early Autumn 2020. Owners Dean Jones, along with DJ’s David Whelan and Mike Di Scala (better known and DJ duo Camelphat) are familiar with making sure they match, or, more often exceed the expectations of their audiences, and so their discerning choice of sound system for the refurb was made with an enormous amount of input and plenty of consideration. “As DJs one of the favourite sound systems we perform with are Void systems and so we wouldn’t have chosen any other brand for our own club,” confirms Mike. ....

Wise Music Group has purchased the Marquis, Verulam and Mistletoe Melodies music publishing companies from The Bocu Group, in the process acquiring publishing rights to the works of influential rock band The Zombies. Included in the purchase are several tracks written by The Zombies Rod Argent, including the Hot 100 No. 2 hit She s Not There from the group’s 1964 debut album Begin Here and the tracks Tell Her No, Care of Cell 44 and Time of the Season from their 1968 masterpiece Odessey and Oracle. The sale also includes This Will Be Our Year and “Hold Your Head Up” (both penned by band member Chris White) and God Gave Rock and Roll to You,” a song performed by Argent’s post-Zombies band Argent (written by that group’s Russ Ballard and later covered by Kiss). ....
