At the NCAA West Regionals on May 26-29, Cal track and field found itself in the opposite scenario: It was a big fish in an even bigger pond. Cal headed into the meet in Texas knowing that it would be facing some of the toughest competition in the country and prepared to the best of its abilities with results to show for it. Junior Camryn Rogers and senior Iffy Joyner advanced to the NCAA championships taking place on June 9-12 in Eugene, Oregon, proving they could swim in the nation’s best pool of competitors. ....
BERKELEY – Championship season is back in action for the Bears. California track & field opens the NCAA preliminary round of the postseason with a squad of 18 student-athletes set to compete at the NCAA West Regional May 26-29 in College Station, Texas. The Golden Bears will have 11 women and seven men competing at E.B Cushing Stadium on the campus of Texas A&M. The top 48 declared student-athletes in each individual event 24 for relays are competing for a top-12 finish to secure a trip to the NCAA Championships (June 9-12) at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The NCAA East Preliminary will be held simultaneously in Jacksonville, Florida. ....

The Campanile begins to look extra tall and shiny in the sunlight, and watching seniors take their graduation photos serves as a painful reminder of your fleeting time as an undergrad. As the school year is nearing an end, so is the outdoor season of track and field. With only three invitationals left, there are only a few more opportunities for the Bears to gain career-best times and qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. ....
