FOND DU LAC - Summer is right around the corner and so is the start of various road construction projects planned for the city and throughout Fond du Lac County. Of particular interest is the continuing State 23 expansion of 19 miles of roadway between Plymouth and Fond du Lac into a four-lane divided highway, with improvements made to numerous intersections along the way.  Work begins this spring on the Fond du Lac County side of the $171 million project that expands 5.34 miles of rural State 23 from the U.S. 151 Interchange to Seven Hills Road in the town of Empire. The west section of the overall project adds a roundabout at State 23 and Wisconsin American Drive, a jug handle interchange with roundabouts at State 23 and County K, and a County K structure over State 23.
