Three osprey chicks rest in their nest located at Warm Springs just off Interstate 90, at the headwaters of the Clark Fork River near Warm Springs Ponds, Mont., Thursday, July 8, 2021. Erick Greene, a professor in wildlife biology at the University of Montana and the leader of the Montana Osprey Project, says the nest is the upper most nest in the Clark Fork watershed and the blood and feather samples collected from the chicks helps researchers understand the aquatic health of the region.
