Tina Ambagan, the aunt of conjoined twins, said they died while being treated at a hospital in Iloilo City. “Hindi na po kinaya ng kambal dahil ang hina po ang kanilang paghinga. Sinubukan po lahat ng doktor na ma-survive sila pero hindi po talaga nila kinaya (They weren’t able to make it because they were having a hard time breathing. Vega particularly noted that hospitals in Iloilo City, which is the regional capital of Western Visayas, are already beyond capacity. Hospitals in Iloilo City are where many severe medical cases are being referred to from residents of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces.
