Multiple agencies respond to house fire in Portland

PORTLAND Multiple emergency and first responder crews responded to a house fire early Wednesday.
The Portland Area Fire Authority was dispatched to a large residential structure fire before 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, in the 400 block of West Grand River Avenue in Portland.
There were no injuries in the fire, but the home is a total loss, according to the PAFA.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Portland Ambulance, the Portland Police Department, the Portland Department of Public Works, Portland Electric, the Lyons-Muir Fire Department, the Berlin-Orange Fire Department, the Westphalia Township Fire Department, the Pewamo Fire Department, the Sunfield Fire Department, the Ionia Department of Public Safety, Ionia County Victim Advocates, American Red Cross, Ionia County Sheriff’s Office and Ionia County Central Dispatch assisted the PAFA at the scene.

BOSTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. â Authorities responded to a crash on Morrison Lake Road and West Grand River Avenue in Boston Township, according to the Ionia County Sheriffâs Office.
Weâre told a 93-year-old man from Saranac was driving south when he failed to yield for an eastbound farm vehicle, which the sheriffâs office says was driven by a 29-year-old man from Lake Odessa.
The 93-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities, who say he was taken to Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids for treatment.
Saranac man taken to hospital after Boston Township crash

BOSTON TWP. A 93-year-old Saranac man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a crash with a large farm vehicle Wednesday in Boston Township, according to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office.
The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office and Saranac Community Fire Department responded to the crash at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, at the intersection of West Grand River Avenue and Morrison Lake Road.
Police say the Saranac man was traveling south and failed to yield to a large farm vehicle heading east. He was taken to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Brighton police looking for suspect in bank robbery
The Brighton police are searching for a man in connection with a robbery of a TCF Bank Thursday.
The man entered the bank on West Grand River Avenue at 4:11 p.m. and told a bank employee “this is a bank robbery, give me all your hundreds according to a press release. A weapon was not implied nor seen but the suspect did leave his right hand in his pocket, police said in the release.
Police said the man, who is Black and approximately 6-feet tall, was wearing a Seattle Seahawks baseball hat, black hoodie, tan pants and green traffic vest.
