Coronavirus WA: Cargo ship hit by COVID-19 case off WA coast


A crew member on board a ship off the coast of Western Australia has been moved to an Australian hospital after testing positive to coronavirus.
WA Premier Mark McGowan said the man, aged in his 50s, fell ill on Thursday April 8 and returned a positive COVID-19 test while still on board the AquaGenie.
Mr McGowan said as the ship was in Commonwealth waters off the coat of Karratha at the time of his positive test.
The man was evacuated and taken to Karratha Health Campus by ambulance last night, the response coordinated by Australia.
