Salina resident arrested for aggravated assault

Officers dispatched to a domestic disturbance where a gun had been discharged found a 52-year-old male outside the residence on the 100 block of West Jewell Avenue around 11 p.m. Friday.  
Salina resident Kenneth Shotts had been drinking all day, and the two victims, a 34-year-old female and a 36-year-old male, had forced Shotts to leave after an argument. The two then used a rope to tie the front door shut.  
Shotts returned, used a box cutter to try to reenter the residence, and attacked after the male let go of the door, causing a physical altercation.  
Shotts then retrieved a .50 caliber black powder rifle from his bedroom and pointed it at the male, who was able to move the barrel to point at the ground when the gun discharged. After he fired the gun, Shotts left.  ....
