The Salina Journal Officers dispatched to a domestic disturbance where a gun had been discharged found a 52-year-old male outside the residence on the 100 block of West Jewell Avenue around 11 p.m. Friday. Salina resident Kenneth Shotts had been drinking all day, and the two victims, a 34-year-old female and a 36-year-old male, had forced Shotts to leave after an argument. The two then used a rope to tie the front door shut. Shotts returned, used a box cutter to try to reenter the residence, and attacked after the male let go of the door, causing a physical altercation. Shotts then retrieved a .50 caliber black powder rifle from his bedroom and pointed it at the male, who was able to move the barrel to point at the ground when the gun discharged.
