Woman dead after car hits tree in front of Akron apartment complex Cliff Pinckard, cleveland.com AKRON, Ohio A 71-year-old woman is dead after her car went off the road and struck a tree in front of a home, police say. The crash occurred at about 3:15 p.m. Monday on the 100 block of West Cedar Street in downtown Akron. According to police, the woman was driving a 2011 Kia Optima east on West Cedar when she went off the road. The woman was not wearing a seatbelt. She was pronounced dead at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center. Police have not released the woman’s identity. ....

The Waverly-Shell Rock School Board is expected to meet in a special session at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 at the middle school auditorium to receive and âpotentially actâ on a recommendation from a facilities task force. The mission of the task force, which is comprised of volunteers, has been to review the facilities needs of the district, as spelled out in a recently prepared report by the Iowa Construction Advocate Team (ICAT), a partnership between the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB) and Estes Construction, then identify the best ways to address them, according to W-SR Superintendent Ed Klamfoth. The purpose of the report, according to the executive summary, is to be used as a âplanning tool to assist the district in making decisions needed in achieving short and long-term facility goals.â ....
