FARGO As crews at Fargo-Moorhead Ambulance went through a windy end of March and beginning of April, they re also coping with the loss of one of their leaders: Dr. Heidi Lako-Adamson.
But, as paramedic Sondra Bergem and others said Thursday, April 1, the title was just a formality.
We called her a little spitfire, Bergem said. I mean, she wasn t quite 5-feet (tall). I remember going on calls with her though, and she wouldn t be intimidated by that 6-foot, 300-pound man. ....

Richard L. Lemieux
Richard Larry Lemieux, 86, Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness on Sunday, (The Lord’s Day) January 17, 2021, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
Richard was born on November 5, 1934, the third son of Edgar and Marie (Jean) Lemieux, in Methuen, MA., and a few years later welcomed his sister into the family. However, as a young boy, he would lose his mother at the age of 6, and his father at the age of 8. He and his brothers were adopted by Exilia Sirois, and lived in Massachusetts until he graduated from Central Catholic High School in Methuen, MA in 1953. ....

Condolences to the Bernal family

We want to offer our condolences to the family of Ofelia Bernal Estrada and Leopoldo Estrada Jr., who both passed away in December. Ofelia and Leo were wonderful residents and great-great grandparents who were also very caring and generous people. So many members of their family have followed their lead and given back to this community, including their son, City Councilor Leo Estrada III. Services are being handled through West Funeral Home.
Hopefully, everyone did OK with the cold front which swept through Carlsbad earlier this week. Eddy County received a small amount of snowfall Wednesday morning. Thanks again to the Community of Hope Center (across the street from La Tienda), for opening Dec. 30 and 31 and Jan. 1 for those in need of a shelter and warm meal. Robert and Patricia Jacquez, with help from the United Way, have really made a difference in the lives of others. Thanks also to Carlsbad Transitional Housing and other groups who also help provide shelter when it is n ....
