Held virtually on May 25 and livestreamed on ABC’s YouTube channel, the American Botanical Council’s 16th annual Celebration and Botanical Excellence Awards honored individuals and companies who have made outstanding contributions to the herbal and botanical communities.

American Botanical Council Presents Botanical Excellence Awards at 16th Annual Celebration Ceremony
AUSTIN, Texas, May 26, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) The American Botanical Council (ABC) presented six awards during its 16th annual Celebration and Botanical Excellence Awards Ceremony on May 25, which was held virtually for the first time and livestreamed on ABC’s YouTube channel.

This year’s event celebrated the accomplishments of the nonprofit education organization in its 33rd year and honored the recipients of six Botanical Excellence Awards. ABC’s Botanical Excellence Awards were initiated in 2006. Recipients were chosen based on their outstanding contributions to the herbal and botanical communities.
Ensign Savannah Turner of Gainesville, U.S. Coast Guard reservist and veteran, University of Florida Ph.D. student, and former UF IFAS Extension Agent, is the April 2021 Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Veteran of the Month. Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried made the announcement.
The Veteran of the Month program was established by Fried, shortly after taking office. The award recognizes veterans who have excelled in service to fellow Floridians through agriculture, consumer protection, or other means; and honors the contributions that the men and women in uniform have made to the state.
