WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. â A Palm Beach County veterinarian is recommending that residents impacted by a major water advisory in West Palm Beach, South Palm Beach, and Palm Beach should not give their pets tap water. I would go ahead and be on the safe side, and I would actually give them bottled water, said Dr. Catherine Zellmer with Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Ensign Savannah Turner of Gainesville, U.S. Coast Guard reservist and veteran, University of Florida Ph.D. student, and former UF IFAS Extension Agent, is the April 2021 Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Veteran of the Month. Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried made the announcement.
The Veteran of the Month program was established by Fried, shortly after taking office. The award recognizes veterans who have excelled in service to fellow Floridians through agriculture, consumer protection, or other means; and honors the contributions that the men and women in uniform have made to the state.
