WILLIAMSBURG Carolyn Sheppe Alliss, 89, went to be with her Lord Monday, March 1, 2021.
She was born to the late Rev. Doctor Edwin S. Sheppe and Mary Smith Sheppe and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Adli A. Alliss.
For 54 years, she and her husband lived in Norfolk, where they raised their five children before moving to Williamsburg in 2008. Carolyn graduated with a B.A. Degree in Music from Mary Washington University and had a career playing violin with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. She was a life member of the Scherzo Music Club and musically active at McKendree United Methodist Church in Norfolk, where she sang in the church choir, was active in many capacities with the youth and the director of numerous church dramas.
