Nominations are open for the City of Fremantle’s Sealin Garlett Community Leadership Award. The award honours the late Reverend Sealin Garlett, who was an outstanding contributor towards reconciliation both to the Nyoongar community and non-Aboriginal community of Perth. The City of Fremantle created the award in collaboration with the Walyalup Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group to celebrate the achievements of a community member who has demonstrated outstanding contributions in reconciliation and community leadership. To be eligible for the Sealin Garlett Award, the person nominated must be of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent; connected to the City of Fremantle by volunteering, residing, working or studying within the City; and have demonstrated achievements in community leadership and reconciliation. (WCSC) - State economists have discovered $1.7 billion in additional revenue that will be added to the budget currently being prepared by the legislature. South Carolina District 37 Sen. Larry Grooms says it’s always good news when they learn of more money. “What has happened is a lot of folks have stayed at home. There’s been a lot of stimulus money flowing to the state to prop up the economy and our state’s economists have now certified that the state will have a windfall of about $1.7 billion in collections of revenue over what we did last year,” Grooms said. “There is likely going to be a mad scramble over how we are going to spend $1.7 billion.” ....

Rammell has declared he ll run for governor in 2022. Rock Springs-based veterinarian Rex Rammell announced this week he will make a second run for the Wyoming governor’s office in 2022, with an overriding platform to put all federal lands in Wyoming under state control. Rammell said on his first day as governor, in a move justified by the U.S. Constitution, in particular the 10 th amendment, he would sign an executive order that all federal buildings be taken over by the state. Rammell said the 10 th amendment to the Constitution states that powers not explicitly given to the federal government belong to the states, and said he believes that federal control over public land is unconstitutional. ....
