The “it” being the inequities and systemic racism that exist in the health care system inequities that have come under the spotlight of the pandemic as COVID-19 disproportionately affects people of color. Inequities existed long before COVID-19 though, says Bagley, director of the Division of Public Health and Community Services for the city of Nashua. She recalls her mother’s experience in an emergency room after falling and suffering a pelvic fracture. “I was astonished at how she was treated.
