Regional Partnership Supporting Health Career Pathways

The Victorian Government is supporting local collaboration between health services and educators in central Victoria to increase the health workforce and meet the future health needs of the region.
Minister for Regional Development Mary-Anne Thomas was in Bendigo today to launch the
Loddon Campaspe Health Sector and Skills Pathway Road Map – a new blueprint to help manage future demands on the region’s health workforce.
The Road Map will promote stronger links between industry, educators and training providers, and identify clear pathways for students and volunteers towards a qualification in areas including nursing, allied health, aboriginal healthcare, and aged care and disability. ....

In 2008, when I first visited Canberra’s newly opened National Portrait Gallery, my first response was an overwhelming sense of déjà vu. I knew many of those paintings. They had once hung on the walls of the Art Gallery of New South Wales as part of the annual Archibald Prize exhibition, or been seen in the Salon des Refusés home to the best of the rejects.
Over 49 years I have seen the Archibald from both the inside, as a curator, and the outside as a critic. My first Archibald was in 1972, the year Clifton Pugh won with his portrait of Gough Whitlam. Along with other art history students, I had never been especially interested in this festival of popular culture, but as the recently appointed most junior of all curators my job was to administer the prize. ....

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority shortlisted for response to Covid award


The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority is in with a chance of winning an award that praises the work they have done during the pandemic.
The communication team has been shortlisted for a low budget campaign award, and will be going head to head with 15 other organisations to win.
The low budget campaign award recognises a successful public relations campaign with a budget of less than £15,000, and is presented by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards.
Marie Edwards, the Authority’s communications and marketing manager, said: After an exceptionally challenging year in dealing with the impact of the pandemic and the associated visitor pressures on the National Park, I am thrilled that the hard work and creativity of our Communications team has been recognised in such a prestigious award by leading industry experts. ....

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) - Work is set to begin to transform a Summerville playground into a space children can enjoy regardless of ability.
Updates to the Saul Alexander Playground on South Laurel Street will begin Monday and are set to include features like a zip track, musical corner and inclusive whirl.
The town said in a news release that they “will promote social equity and enhance the quality of life for the whole community,” including children with physical, cognitive or other disabilities. ....
